I am Dr. Martin Moses S. Yu, a Filipino (from Philippines) cardiologist currently undergoing Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Xiamen Cardiovascular Hospital, China and is expected to finish by August 2027.
I have done previously also my fellowship training in Advanced Heart Failure at the National University Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS).
I am writing to express my sincere interest in joining Fuwai Hospital in Structural Heart Intervention, beginning in August 2027. I am passionate about advancing my knowledge and skills in Interventional Structural Heart Disease, and I believe your esteemed institution, known for its excellence in cardiology, would be an ideal environment for advanced learning and training.
Coming from Iligan City, a humble locality in the southern Philippines, I have witnessed firsthand the burden of cardiovascular disease and the scarcity of specialized care—particularly in Interventional Cardiology and most specially the Adult Congenital and Structural heart disease. In a country with a population exceeding 117 million, the number of cardiologists, especially interventional structural specialists, remains insufficient. Consequently, access to life-saving interventions and advanced cardiac care is limited, especially in underserved areas.
I have always been deeply fascinated by coronary artery disease, congenital, structural heart conditions, congenital diseases, cardiac mechanical circulatory support, hemodynamics, and cardiomyopathies—fields that are unfortunately not prioritized in our national healthcare agenda. I aspire to bridge this gap by equipping myself with the most up-to-date skills and knowledge, which I hope to bring back and share with my community in the Philippines.
Through this program, I hope to contribute meaningfully to your institution with my strong work ethic, respect, compassion, dedication to research, and deep motivation to serve. I am confident that training under the guidance of esteemed experts at Fuwai Hospital will further hone my clinical and academic capabilities.
