Founded in 1918, Peking University People’s Hospital (PKUPH) is the first general hospital in China to be financed and operated by Chinese nationals. Over the past century, PKUPH has remained committed to high-quality patient care, education, and innovative medical research, becoming a leading institution in the field of healthcare.

PKUPH is a modern, comprehensive hospital offering advanced diagnostic and therapeutic care across nearly every medical specialty. With a workforce of over 4,200 employees, including 1,300 physicians and 2,466 nurses, PKUPH operates across multiple campuses in Beijing, including the main campus at Xizhimen, and the newly developed Tongzhou campus. The hospital has more than 2,600 beds, providing care to patients from around the world. PKUPH serves:

PKUPH has played a pioneering role in medical advancements, performing the first allogeneic bone marrow transplant in Asia, developing China's first hepatitis B vaccine, and creating the country's first extracorporeal shock wave lithotripter. The hospital is a leader in several specialized fields, including organ transplantation, joint replacement, cancer care, and cardiovascular treatment.

In addition to its clinical excellence, PKUPH is a hub for education and research, with 11 national key medical disciplines and numerous specialized centers, including a national clinical research center for cardiovascular diseases. The hospital houses multiple high-end research labs and collaborates with prestigious institutions globally.
